Liverpool FC has set its sights on signing a new number 9, with strong interest in Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and Eintracht Frankfurt’s French international Hugo Ekitike. As the club prepares to offload Darwin Núñez, progress on that front is expected soon, opening the door for a fresh attacking option.
Swedish striker Alexander Isak has emerged as a top target following an impressive campaign with the Magpies. The 25-year-old was instrumental for Newcastle, scoring 26 goals and registering 6 assists in 40 appearances, an outstanding goal involvement rate of 0.8 per game.
Liverpool’s radar. The 23-year-old featured in 48 matches across all competitions last season, netting 22 goals and delivering 12 assists, averaging 0.7 goal contributions per game.
Ekitike has also drawn interest from Newcastle United, who have reportedly begun talks with Frankfurt over a potential move, suggesting Liverpool may have to act quickly if they are to secure his services.
