The Member of Parliament for Pru East, Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, has hosted the maiden edition of the Lord Boam’s Best Education Worker Awards to celebrate hardworking teachers and education officers in the district.
The colourful ceremony, held at the Yeji AstroTurf, marked the first-ever teacher recognition event in the history of the Pru East District. It brought together teachers, students, education officials, and traditional leaders, creating an atmosphere of joy and appreciation for the role of teachers in national development.
Among the dignitaries present were the District Education Director, Mr. Sylvester Tabiasi-Naa, the Pru East District Chief Executive, Hon. Abdul Nassir Dauda, and the Bono East Regional Education Director, Nana Kugbeadzor-Bakateyi II, who represented the Deputy Minister of Education and the Bono East Regional Minister. The program was chaired by Nana Siahene Mpre Kukuji, Gyeasehene of the Yeji Traditional Area, supported by other chiefs and queenmothers.
Hon. Boam presented the following prizes to the awardees:

In his address, Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam said he has made a firm commitment to improving education in the constituency. According to him, a scholarship scheme has already been established to support both teachers and students, with 20 beneficiaries currently pursuing further studies.
He further explained the need to upgrade school infrastructure in several communities and assured that urgent attention will be given to those in dire need.
“I have made a solemn pledge to improve education in Pru East. Teachers play a vital role in shaping our future leaders, and they deserve our recognition and full support,” he stated.
The awardees expressed appreciation to the MP for his continuous support to the education sector.
“This gesture motivates us to do more,” said Mr. Mohammed Sina, the overall best award winner.
