Matilda Aku Alomatu accomplishes another milestone achievement for Ghana

 

Former Miss Ghana who became a diplomat, Matilda Aku Alomatu Osei-Agyeman continues to make Ghana proud in the world as she spreads the good news of Ghana in China.

Having over 26 years working experience at the Foreign Ministry, Matilda Alomatu is one of the finest foreign service officers Ghana has had.

Recently, she participated in Vienna Multilateral Ambassadors’ China Tour from 22 to 27 June 2025, by dint of her hard work.

“I was pleased to take part in the Second Nuclear Cooperation Journey – Vienna Multilateral Ambassadors’ China Tour from 22 to 27 June 2025, at the invitation of the China Atomic Energy Agency (CAEA) and the Permanent Mission of the People’s Republic of China in Vienna.” The hard working woman posted on her X.

According to her, the journey brought together her fellow diplomats from Brazil, Namibia, Bangladesh and other diplomatic staff from Nigeria, Pakistan, Venezuela, Indonesia.

“We visited key nuclear science and technology institutions, including:  Huaneng Shidaowan High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor Demonstration Project  Shandong Nuclear Power Equipment Manufacturing Co.,National Nuclear Security Technology Center, China Institute of Atomic Energy, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences  CNNC, Tongfang Nuctech, and others”

We exchanged views with Chinese government officials, experts, and scholars, and participated in a symposium on the peaceful use of nuclear technology and cooperation.

It was inspiring to see China’s efforts in advancing safe and sustainable nuclear energy, promoting nuclear technology for societal benefit, and deepening partnerships with developing countries in areas such as nuclear agriculture, nuclear medicine, industry, public safety, and environmental protection.

She said Ghana is committed to working with China, the IAEA to promote the peaceful use of nuclear science and technology for sustainable development.

“Ghana remains committed to working with China, the IAEA, and partners across the Global South to promote the peaceful use of nuclear science and technology for sustainable development. Together, we can build a future where nuclear technology benefits all nations, especially those most in need. Indeed, “atoms4globalsouth” as espoused by China.” She stated.
