Meet Ghana’s distinguished Chartered Accountant who broke record in Parliament and financial oversight

 

Many believe it is a blessing to have a woman to monitor financial performance and implement policies to prevent errors or fraud and ensure that the organization’s finances is strong and has integrity.

Thank God, Ghana has been blessed with such a virtuous woman.

A distinguished Chartered Accountant who has a track record in managing finances, revenue mobilization strategies, and ensuring effective budget implementation.

Hon. Abena Osei Asare, the woman who broke Ghana’s record as the first female to Chair Ghana’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Atiwa Constituency in the Eastern Region who was appointed as Ghana’s Deputy Finance Minister in the year 2017 to 2025 has been branded with many titles due to her commitment and dedication to duty and her pivotal role in Ghana’s financial oversight and national development.

Hon. Abena Osei-Asare’ achievement in financial oversight continues to lead many people to their various destinations in business and the government’s budget to deliver good services to the people.

As a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICA), Mrs. Osei Asare did not only deliver her distinguished services in Ghana but in many international platforms including the UN, AU, and ILO.

As a Member of Parliament, she never disappointed her people in their needs and fulfilling her campaign promises.

To impress her constituents, Hon. Abena Osei Asare held a series of engagements with various stakeholders across the constituency over the week.

She received members of the Pure Water Sellers Association in Anyinam, who visited to express their heartfelt appreciation for the support she has continuously offered them.

“I also had the joy of meeting with the dedicated caterers I engaged to cook for this year’s 2025 BECE candidates across the constituency. Their selfless contribution to our children’s wellbeing during this critical moment in their academic journey is truly commendable. From there, I joined the Chiefs and people of Asamang Tamfoe, Anyinam and Abakoase to celebrate Akwasidae, a beautiful cultural tradition that brings us together in unity and heritage. It was an honour to be part of this moment with our traditional leaders and people.” She posted on Facebook.
