Nana Asare Baffour II uplifts royal heritage through restoration and development

Nana Asare Baffour II, the Chief of Bamiri in the Techiman South Municipality of the Bono East Region, has revealed a series of landmark projects he has undertaken to reinforce the dignity and cultural legacy of the Kokroko Tuntu Royal Family.

Speaking to the media, Nana Asare Baffour II explained that since assuming the throne, he has consulted with members of the Kokroko Tuntu Royal Family and has built a new royal palace at Bamiri, along with sister palaces in Twimea Nkwanta and Pomakrom. Each palace features a spacious reception area for ceremonial functions, integrated market stalls to support local artisans, and residential quarters for royal family members and official guests.

“In consultation with memebes of the Bamiri Royal Family, I have taken deliberate steps to uplift the dignity and heritage of the Kokroko Tuntu Royal Family.

“After building the community center, I consulted with the Traditional Council and oversaw the construction of a new royal palace, the Kokroko Tuntu Royal Palace in Bamiri. This was done to enhance the status of the royal family and reinforce our cultural legacy.

“I extended similar developments to other areas: new palaces have been built at Twimea Nkwanta and Pomakrom, all under the Kokroko Tuntu Royal Family. These palaces are spacious and feature shops and residential quarters to accommodate not only royal family members but also guests from across the region.” He said.

He further disclosed that he is currently building a 25-room guest house at Techiman Dwomor. Once completed, he said, the facility will generate income to support additional community and heritage initiatives, while also serving as a sustainable source of revenue for future projects in the community.

“Currently, I am constructing a 25-room guest house at Techiman Dwomor, designed to generate income for the royal family. Once completed, this guest house will provide the financial means needed to initiate and sustain more developmental projects for the benefit of our community and royal lineage.” Nana Asare Baffour II stated.

Nana Asare Baffour II seeks to set a new standard for royal leadership with these landmark constructions, blending tradition with economic foresight to benefit both the Kokroko Tuntu Royal Family and the wider Techiman community
