NDC Chairman leads delegation to China for strategic engagements

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, is leading a high-level party delegation to the People’s Republic of China for a strategic engagement with the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The visit, according to a statement signed by the party’s Director of Communications, Kakra Essamuah, and issued on Monday, May 12, 2025,  is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the two parties and explore new avenues for political, economic, and developmental cooperation.

While in China, the NDC delegation will focus on four key areas: the consolidation of local government structures in Ghana, the deepening of party-to-party ties, the establishment of political exchange programs for the youth wings of both parties, and the exploration of economic and investment opportunities beneficial to both nations.

Joining Hon. Asiedu-Nketiah on the trip are Comrade Vincent Kuagbenu, Director for Special Duties; Dr. Karl Mark Arhin, Deputy Director of International Relations; Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw, National Women’s Organizer; and Kwaku Asiedu-Nketiah, Vice Chairman of the Youth Committee.

The delegation is expected to return to Ghana on May 17, 2025. In the interim, the party’s National Vice Chairman, Comrade Awudu Sofo Azorka, will assume the role of Acting National Chairman.

CHAIRMAN ASIEDU-NKETIAH TRAVELS TO CHINA

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Hon. Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah is leading a delegation of party officials to the People’s Republic of China for an engagement with the leadership of the Communist Party of China.

In China, the delegation will engage the Chinese Communist Party on the following specific areas of collaboration: consolidation of local government structures in Ghana; strengthening of party-to-party ties; political exchange programs for the respective youth wings of the parties; and exploration of areas of economic and investment opportunities.

The NDC delegation comprises the National Chairman and the following officers:

  1. Comrade Vincent Kuagbenu, Director for Special Duties

  2. Dr. Karl Mark Arhin, Deputy Director of International Relations

  3. Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw, National Women’s Organizer, and

  4. Kwaku Asiedu-Nketiah, Vice Chairman of the Youth Committee

The delegation will return to Ghana on the 17th of May, 2025.

In his absence, the National Vice Chairman, Comrade Awudu Sofo Azorka, will act as the National Chairman.
