NDC Respects Their Creatives, NPP Does Not – Socrate Safo

Ghanaian filmmaker Socrate Safo has expressed concern over how the New Patriotic Party (NPP) poorly treats creatives who are affiliated with the party.

According to Socrate, the NPP does not respect or value the contributions of creatives. He claims that the party consistently ignores their input and fails to take advantage of their knowledge and wisdom — unlike the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), which he believes does the opposite.

Socrate emphasized that the NPP focuses too much on individuals who are “bookish,” yet many of these individuals have not delivered any real benefit to the party.

“The NPP hasn’t learned any lesson because they rely on bookish people — and these are people who haven’t done any good for the party. They don’t respect creatives, and that’s why they don’t make use of our knowledge and wisdom, like the NDC does,” he stated.

Speaking on Okay FM, Socrate further noted that the NDC has shown that creatives are not empty-headed or useless, as often assumed, and that when utilized, they can contribute meaningfully to national development.

“The NDC has proven that creatives are intelligent people. Honestly, I get jealous of creatives in the NDC because the party values and makes good use of them. Unlike our party, which relies only on degree holders and looks down on us, thinking they’re better. We had people who could’ve done the job easily, but they ignored us just because we don’t have degrees,” he revealed.

Socrate Safo has directed over a hundred movies, such as God Is Wicked, Sexy Angel, Tun Tum (The Revelation), and many more.
