NDC’s Ewurabena Aubynn wins Ablekuma North seat with 50.10%

The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate Ewurabena Aubynn has declared winner in the just ended parliamentary rerun in the Ablekuma North constituency.

Ewurabena Aubynn secured 34,090 votes (50.10%) while the NPP’s Akua Afriyie polled 33,881 votes representing 49.79%.

This is the first time in the Fourth Republic that the NDC has won the seat, after decades of political dominance by the NPP.

The rerun followed a protracted dispute over the initial December 2024 parliamentary results, where violence at the collation centre halted the counting of results from 19 polling stations.

Speaking to the media, the MP-elect stated that the NDC worked hard to secure this victory.
