Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur has slammed critics who accuse him of neglecting his music career in favor of posting food and lifestyle content on social media.
In a video, the “Grind Day” hitmaker responded to the backlash he received after sharing various dishes and lifestyle posts online.
He stated that the criticisms stem from negativity and toxic behavior, which he believes hinder creativity and progress in Ghana’s entertainment industry.
“I don’t know why people have become too toxic nowadays, taking to social media to say anything they want. Negative comments like these hinder the progress of our entertainment industry, which is bad because it’s not like that in other countries,” he said.
Kwesi Arthur made it clear he has no intentions of returning to a life of struggle, emphasizing that he has worked hard to elevate himself.
“Some even say they pray I go broke again and start drinking gari. How can you say all this? People have become toxic,” he added.
He emphasized that he’s proud of how far he’s come and won’t allow anyone to pull him back to his difficult early days.
“I’ve worked hard to make myself feel good, and I won’t return to that life again.”
Despite the backlash, Kwesi Arthur remains firm in his decision to continue posting lifestyle and food-related content, which he says brings him joy.
“It’s not your backlash that will make me stop posting food content. It’s something that makes me happy. I don’t care what you say or do. What’s wrong if I post food on social media?”
He concluded by affirming that music remains his core identity:
“I was born a musician. Why would I abandon music for something else? Can’t you see I’m just having fun with what I’m doing?”
