Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale didn’t receive any payment whatsoever from the government for his performance at the President’s Cup event, which was held at the Accra Sports Stadium on July 6, 2025.
The Sports Minister, Kofi Adams, issued a press release to address public concerns over the matter.
According to Joy Sports, Shatta Wale covered his own football-related bills, including performance and production costs, as a kind gesture in honor of President John Dramani Mahama.
During his statement, the Sports Minister explained that no taxpayer money was used to pay Shatta Wale or cover any expenses related to his performance.
Shatta Wale, along with other artistes like Camidoh and Kweku Smoke, were among those billed to perform at the event.
