Since When Did Sarkodie Need Smoke to Shine? – Lyrical Joe Questions Claims

Rapper Lyrical Joe has slammed comments suggesting that Ghanaian rap icon Sarkodie is using Kweku Smoke to revive his so-called dead career.

According to Lyrical Joe, such statements shouldn’t even be entertained at this point, as they contribute nothing positive to the industry.

He emphasized that Sarkodie is a legend, and his presence in the music scene should be seen as a blessing to younger and upcoming artistes.

The Enter hitmaker added that any artist who gets featured by “King Sark,” as he’s affectionately called, gains the opportunity to benefit from his influence and large fan base.

“People just come on social media and disrespect anybody. How can you say a whole Sarkodie is featuring Kweku Smoke just to revive his dead career? I think this might be an agenda someone is pushing. I’d never type such a thing on social media, even if it crossed my mind. But anyway, it’s someone’s opinion although it’s not true. Someone will always argue just because Sarkodie features new acts.”

Lyrical Joe pointed out that Sarkodie has consistently featured new talents for years, and his recent collaboration with Kweku Smoke shouldn’t be taken out of context.

He also reflected on how his own career benefited from a Sarkodie feature:

“Yes, it’s true that a Sarkodie feature can have impact but does that mean he’s riding on someone else’s shine? If you look into Sarkodie’s career, he has achieved so much and he does everything with purpose. He featured me before, and he knows what he’s doing when he works with new acts.”

Lyrical Joe was one of the rappers featured on Sarkodie’s Biiba Ba project in 2018, alongside talents like Amerado, Tulenkey, CJ Biggerman, Kofi Mole, and more.
