Techiman North DCE pays courtesy call on Tuobodom Chiefs, pledges development partnership

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Techiman North, Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson, has paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of the Tuobodom Traditional Area, Nana Agyei Kokoo Takyifiri Beyeeman II, as part of his familiarization tour following his appointment to office.

The visit, which took place at the chief’s palace in Tuobodom, was aimed at strengthening ties between the assembly and traditional authorities, fostering collaboration for the development of the municipality.

In a brief address, Hon. Adom Johnson expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Nana Agyei Kokoo and the entire traditional council for their prayers and support, which he believes played a key role in his appointment by His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama.

He pledged to work closely with the chiefs and elders of the area to bring lasting development, peace, and unity to Techiman North.

“As custodians of the land, your collaboration is vital in our shared goal of transforming this municipality. My doors are open 24 hours a day to work with the traditional council.”.

The Techiman North District Chief Executive also appealed to the chiefs to support the policies and vision of President Mahama, emphasizing that their endorsement will help drive development in the area. He revealed that his visit was not only a courtesy call but also a foundational step towards mutual cooperation and inclusive governance.

The Omanhene of Tuobodom, Nana Agyei Kokoo Takyifiri Beyeeman II, warmly welcomed the MCE and commended him for the humility and respect demonstrated through the visit. Drawing inspiration from the biblical story of King David, Nana encouraged the MCE to see his appointment as divinely ordained, urging him to serve fearlessly with faith in God.

“Just as David, though the youngest and least expected, was chosen to lead his people, you too have been chosen with a purpose. Trust in Jehovah God, and you will succeed.” He stated

Nana Agyei Kokoo took the opportunity to outline pressing development needs in the area. He called for improvement of road infrastructure, particularly those linking Tuobodom to surrounding farming communities, to boost agriculture and trade. He also emphasized the urgent need for completion of the Agenda 111 hospital project, improvement in education infrastructure, establishment of an agricultural training center, and expansion of electricity to underserved parts of the municipality.

He further appealed to the DCE to address youth-related concerns, including employment and social development, and to ensure Tuobodom becomes a safe, thriving community for all.

Nana Agyei Kokoo assured the Hon. Johnson and the Techiman North District Assembly that the traditional council is ready to provide land for development projects and affirmed the council’s commitment to working closely with the assembly.
