The Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah (Techiman Sompahene), has officially handed over newly constructed market sheds to the people of Kuntunso in the Bono East Region.
The brief but colorful ceremony, held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, was grace with the presence of some members of the Techiman Traditional Council, community elders, and market women who welcomed the initiative with excitement and gratitude.
The new martket facility, which was fully funded by the MP, is aimed at making trading more convenient and comfortable for the people of Kuntunso and surrounding communities. Prior to this intervention, traders, mostly women had to sell their goods under harsh weather conditions, often exposed to the sun and rain.
“This project is part of my broader commitment to improving the economic well-being of my constituents,” Hon. Korsah said. “I believe market infrastructure is critical to promoting local trade and creating a dignified working environment for our mothers and sisters.”
The Techiman Sompahene addressing the gathering urged the community to adopt a strong maintenance culture to ensure the longevity of the facility.
The initiative adds to a growing list of development projects by the MP, who continues to prioritize the needs of the people in areas such as education, health, and infrastructure. The chiefs and elders of Kuntunso, speaking through a representative, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Korsah and pledged to take good care of the facility.
They also praised the MP for his hands-on leadership and consistent developmental projects, ranging from school renovations and water supply extensions to road works and support for youth programs.
