Ghanaian rapper Joseph Gamor, popularly known as Lyrical Joe, has expressed his concerns about what he describes as a “cult-like” fan culture in the Ghanaian music industry.
In an interview with Hitz FM on July 8, 2025, Lyrical Joe stated that some fans blindly support their favorite musicians, which breeds unhealthy competition and even corruption in the creative space.
“This is not loyalty. This is beyond loyalty, which makes one blind to the truth about some situations. The fact that I’m loyal to my boss doesn’t mean that if he says someone stole something, it’s true. That is corruption,” he said.
According to him, fans need to put an end to this cult-like behavior because it’s unfair and disrespectful to other musicians.
He was also asked about his past feud with rapper Amerado, to which he responded that the issue was resolved by Andy Dosty, although he is no longer as close to Amerado as he once was.
