The University of Ghana Health Directorate has issued a new COVID-19 preventive measures to reduce the risk of infection and community spread.
The University in a notice issued on Monday, June 23 said the Health Directorate has reactivated its COVID-19 Response Protocols, including screening and triage measures in health facilities.
This follows a few COVID-19 suspected and confirmed cases reported in the campus.
“The Health Service Directorate would like to inform the University Community of a recent resurgence in COVID-19 cases, with a few suspected and confirmed cases reported in our immediate vicinity.” The notice said.
“Wear face masks properly, especially in enclosed or crowded spaces, Wash hands frequently with soap under running water or use alcohol-based sanitizer, Maintain physical distancing of at least one meter where possible, Avoid large gathering unless absolutely necessary.” These are some of the recommended preventive measures the Health Service Directorate listed.

The Health Service Directorate would like to inform the University Community of a recent resurgence in COVID-19 cases, with a few suspected and confirmed cases reported in our immediate vicinity.
In light of this development, all staff, students and visitors are strongly advised to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to the following recommended preventive measures to reduce the risk of infection and community spread.
- Wear face masks properly, especially in enclosed or crowded spaces.
- Wash hands frequently with soap under running water or use alcohol-based sanitizer.
- Maintain physical distancing of at least one meter where possible.
- Avoid large gatherings unless absolutely necessary.
- Ensure good ventilation in offices, lecture halls, and meeting rooms.
- Stay at home if you experience any flu-like symptoms and seek prompt medical attention.
