You have been GFA president since 2019, make Ghana Premier League attractive – Serwaa Amihere slams Kurt Okraku 

 

Ghanaian Radio and Television Personality, Serwaa Amihere has criticised Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku for lack of innovation and investment to promote Ghana Premier League.

She said Kurt Okraku has not been able to manage the Ghana Premier League to be attracted to others since his assumption as the GFA President in 2019.

“Sir, please fix security at our stadia, invest in marketing our game to attract fans, incentivize and renumerate properly match officials, get us improved playing pitches and make our league centers safe for families.” She wrote on X.

Serwaa Amihere’s comments come after poor attendance recorded at the Accra Sports Stadium during Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak’s match which ended goalless.

“Dear Kurt Okraku, you have been Ghana Football Association President since 2019 and your biggest mantra was; “Bring back the love”. I support Kumasi Asante Kotoko so our game against Hearts of Oak yesterday appeared in many of my social media feeds. Shockingly for Ghana’s biggest football game, I have seen the attendance at the Accra Sports Stadium and wasn’t impressed. I have even seen a fan saying the Ashanti Region Super Zonals Athletics Competition among Senior High Schools is interesting and worth attending than a game between Kotoko and Hearts.” The presenter added.

Serwaa Amihere lamented Black Stars have only been given attention in the Sports cycle in Ghana.

She stressed the Football management must be proactive and implement policies that will revive the Ghana Premier League.

“Our biggest brand might be the Black Stars but we cannot discount the economic and social impact of having a well organized and properly managed Ghana Premier League. One of the biggest challenges we face in Ghana is, we are good at coming up with slogans and policies but after implementation, there is no proper tracking systems to measure the gains and identifying challenges to fix.” She indicated.

“Dear Mr. Kurt Okraku, how do you think you have faired in managing the Ghana Premier League? Thank you” The renowned presenter quizzed.
